Long Island, Rockwood and Hair don'ts...

It seems I have been a little slack in updating my blog and for this I apologise; although it is not without good reason that I have let things slip momentarily. Yesterday I rose early to take the Jitney bus out to Long Island to see my Grandma who I haven't seen in roughly 8 years and unfortunately I was only able to stay with for as many hours.  Despite our lack of time, we were able to look through old photographs, walk down to the beach, have dinner together and share many stories and laughs. I can say without hesitation that it is one of the major highlights of this whole trip.
Back in the city the next day we had a couple of hours to spare and decided to use them to climb the Empire State building and take in the sights from upon high. It was, of course, a truly spectacular view as ever and well worth the 86 storey lift up.
The gig that evening was at The Rockwood Music Hall in the lower east village and was an intimate venue, holding only 160; a figure that was probably surpassed in the queue out on the street. This made for a fun gig but a difficult load-out so I offer apologies to anyone who I wasn't able to talk at length to; at that time the priority was getting all our hired equipment out onto the street, ready for return to the hire company (I can hear the sighs of boredom as you read this too by the way!!).
That's all for now, I'm going to wander around the city for a bit. Hope you like the photos!
p.s. Sorry Dad, I had to put in this shot I found of us from years past, it's too good not to...
